Data Protection Officer (m/f)

  • Inform and advise TeamViewer on obligations under GDPR and other data protection legislation that may be applicable
  • Develop and maintain Policies and Procedures related to data protection, anticipating potential change in regulations and implementation practices
  • Monitor how the organisation meets the requirements of GDPR through a series of periodic reviews and audits, promoting a culture of continuous improvement
  • Identify and recommend Policies and Procedures to reflect the requirements of GDPR and work with the leadership team to ensure these are embedded across the organisation
  • Coordinate the activities of our community of regional/functional Data Protection Coordinators/Leads, ensuring knowledge sharing, training events and engaging all internal stakeholders’ involvement in privacy management activities
  • Cooperate with the relevant Supervisory Authority, maintaining registration and ensuring action is taken on data privacy issues, particularly where this relates to time-critical aspects such as Data Subject Requests (DSR’s) and data breach incidents
  • Identify and analyse data protection risks & issues as part of TeamViewer’s overall information security risk framework, ensuring ownership is clear with contingencies and containment actions progressed to reduce risk exposure

  • Relevant degree of higher education with legal, compliance, IT security/ InfoSec or audit background
  • Extensive experience with processes, information and technology in organisations
  • Certification in data protection and/or information security, for example achieved or working towards Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) or equivalent including local certificates such as TÜV
  • Commercial experience with third parties
  • Fluent German and English skills, spoken and written
  • Ability to make good judgement regarding data protection risks and to prioritize resources and activity around managing those risks
  • Experience in a similar type of role in a multinational business, ideally in the context of GDPR
  • Ability to conduct the role independently and with integrity
  • Good communication skills, capable of collaborating with wide range of stakeholders and recognizing their competing priorities, including senior management, business and technology teams
  • Ability to establish and maintain a high degree of confidentiality, respect, trust and credibility. You are also able to manage data incidents and breaches
  • Strong team player and proven track record working within a multi-disciplinary environment
