US Corporate Counsel

  • Provide sound legal advice and legal support to US teams on operations and corporate service issues
  • Create and maintain in-house training courses and policies on business-related legal topics for Sales, Marketing and Support teams, as well as provide feedback on Human Resources training and documentation
  • Negotiate and draft a variety of legal contracts and documents that align with core business values, applicable polices and regulatory requirements, and comply with corporate/global business needs
  • Partner with internal teams to provide input on projects, processes, business development activities and strategies in support of both regional and global business needs
  • Ensure that contracts, agreements and obligations in place for global needs will meet US regulatory and policy requirements
  • Partners with external counsel as needed to address specialized US business needs
  • Manage legal activities for Americas operations, including but not limited to requests for expert witness testimony, subpoena responses, and attendance at legal proceedings in the Americas
  • Maintain internal legal documentation files, including US contracts and agreements
  • Oversees maintenance of US document retention strategies
  • Develop and manage the US Legal budget
  • Participate in audits, inspections and/or investigations as needed

What we offer

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Active member of the Florida Bar Association in good standing
  • 10 or more years’ work experience as corporate counsel or in a general legal services role for a US law firm is required
  • 5 or more years’ work experience in data protection (GDPR and US), information technology, intellectual property, sales and marketing regulations, and contracts is required
  • Experience working with international legal teams is preferred
  • Fluency in English is required with excellent oral and written professional communication skills
  • Strong negotiation skills in international and interdisciplinary environments
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat or similar PDF software
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with little day-to-day leadership oversight
  • Ability to maintain routine processes as well as develop new processes and efficiencies to support organizational growth
  • Strong organization skills
  • Strong knowledge of US business landscape with focus on emerging legal trends, regulations and case law that may impact the business
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed (15% or less per year)
