Data Protection Specialist (m/f/d)

Responsibilities

We are looking for a Data Protection Specialist (m/f/d) to support IT, IT Security and Customer Satisfaction Teams with all GDPR relevant checks and tasks. Furthermore this position will also contribute to the IT Security Governance and day-to-day security operations.

  • The Data Protection Specialist (m/f/d) takes care of all GDPR-relevant questions in the IT / IT Security department and acts as the main GDPR-representative for the Operations department (including IT and Customer Support)
  • Advising the department in connection with all issues relating to data protection and data management, creating a link to the Legal department
  • Management and documentation of the ROPA (Record of Processing Activities) for the IT / IT Security department and as a backup, the Customer Support department
  • Processing the requests for information according to the GDPR and optimizing the associated processes
  • Verification, checking and archiving of customer DPAs and TOMs
  • Close collaboration and consultation with the Legal department and our Data Protection Officers on ROPA, DPA, DPIA and relevant processes
  • Creating and Maintaining DPIAs for the IT / IT Security department
  • Regulating the access rights to personal data and processes for various software owned by the IT / IT Security and Customer Support department
  • Ensuring the deletion of personal data that is no longer required for software owned by the IT / IT Security and Customer Support department
  • Internal contact for GDPR questions for the IT / IT Security department as well as the Customer Support department
  • Contact person for the onboarding process of new suppliers in the IT / IT Security department including checking the documents (DPA and TOMs) for completeness, signature or changes
  • Defining and designing appropriate organizational measures for possible risks in the handling of personal data for the IT / IT Security department and their regular evaluation or review
  • Independent project management and oversight of GDPR compliance

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in the field of Business Administration, Law or any other related subject with focus on data protection
  • 3-5 years professional experience in the field of IT Security and GDPR
  • Fluency in English is mandatory, further languages such as German are a plus
  • Ability to work proactively and independently as well as the ability to work in a team
  • The ability to bring people together in respect to GDPR topics, respect the opinions of others and seek out solutions
  • Good analytical and conceptional skills, complemented by solid communication skill and team-spirit
  • A passion for generating transparency and solving problems
  • Proven track record of analyzing workflows/ processes/systems and effectively documenting them to clearly and concisely articulate issues
